Legendary U-453 chest of drawers by Czech designer Jiří Jiroutek, designed in the 1960s and manufactured by Interier Praha. The U-453 series gained international recognition, particularly after the success of the Czechoslovak pavilion at Expo 58 in Brussels, where its modern and functional design received widespread acclaim.
This chest of drawers with black and white fronts is a true icon of Mid-Century design. With its clean lines and striking contrast, it becomes a central eye-catcher in any interior. It combines timeless elegance with functional simplicity, adding a refined accent to both modern and classic spaces.
The piece has been fully restored in our workshop: the old lacquer was removed from all surfaces, veneer damages were professionally repaired, and all wooden surfaces were treated with a natural hardwax oil.
The drawers have been thoroughly cleaned inside, and the fronts polished. The painted surfaces show age-related signs of use such as scratches and minor cracks, which, however, do not affect the overall appearance.
