Decorative ceramic money box in the shape of a stylized horse, likely an Italian piece from the Mid-Century design period, circa 1960s–1970s. The figure exhibits typical characteristics of the Italian studio ceramic style, often associated with the designs of Bitossi Ceramiche.
The surface has a beautiful brown reactive glaze with raised dots and decorative lines. The design is deliberately minimalist and three-dimensional, with sturdy legs and a stylized head—a typical feature of many Italian ceramic figures from this period.
The coin slot is located at the top, and a metal clasp at the bottom. The lock is present, but the key is missing.
Ceramic figures like this were produced both as money boxes and as decorative design objects and would be a good fit for Mid-Century interiors or collections of Italian studio ceramics.
