Product description
For sale is a beautiful rarity: a spherical vase from the renowned "Harrtil" series by the Czechoslovakian glassworks Harrachov. The design dates from the late 1950s/early 1960s (attributed to Milan Metelák/Miloš Pulpitel, among others). What makes this mouth-blown studio glass vase so special is its delicate, net-like structure of fine white glass fibers, masterfully fused into thick crystal glass (a modern interpretation of the Venetian Reticello technique). The vase is made of high-quality glass and is in excellent condition. The structure and surface of the glass are intact, underscoring the quality of its production at that time. Manufacturer: Harrachov Glassworks (Czechoslovakia), "Harrtil" series, Harrtil Bazaa Designer: Net-patterned glass series designed by Miloš Pulpitel (partly in collaboration with Rudolf Schwedler or Milan Metelák) Production period: Mid-Century Modern, circa 1950s to 1960s Special feature: Merletto/Retinello technique: Handcrafted, mouth-blown studio glass with an incorporated white net pattern Condition: Perfect vintage condition! No cracks, no chips, no limescale, and no scratches. Display piece. Dimensions • Height: approx. 13 cm • Width / Diameter: approx. 14 cm • Opening (Diameter): approx. 6.2 cm After the nationalization of the glassworks in 1948, Czechoslovakian studio glass experienced a worldwide renaissance in the 1950s (especially after the EXPO 58 World's Fair in Brussels). This vase belongs precisely to this era of modern mid-century design. A wonderful collector's item for lovers of Czech art glass (Sklo Union / Bohemia) and stylish retro design. Reference: "Sklo Czech Glass Design from the 1950s-70s" by Mark Hill This spherical vase blends seamlessly into a mid-century modern interior and adds a subtle accent as a decorative element on a sideboard or shelf. It combines beautifully with other glass objects or minimalist decorations. Private sale: Sold as is, without warranty. Liability for damages resulting from injury to health, body, or life, and from gross negligence and/or willful misconduct on my part as the seller, remains unaffected. No returns, no exchanges, and no warranty. Private sale. This item is sold "as is" without any warranty, guarantee, or right of return. All sales are final.
