ORIGINAL HAND-CUT LINORY
Every line in this work was hand-carved into linoleum. The work tells of the flow of life, the river as a symbol of change, and the continuous rhythm of growth, blossoming, and renewal.
An ode to the rhythm that connects all life.
In this work, water, fish, flowers, and geometric patterns flow together into a serene composition where movement and harmony meet. The repeating forms refer to natural cycles of growth, blossoming, decay, and rebirth. Just as a river flows continuously, so too does life move ever onward, carried by an invisible melody.
Every line was hand-carved into linoleum. The linoleum plate itself forms the unique artwork and was finished with high-quality printing inks and a protective coating layer. The artisanal process remains visible in the rich texture and the lively rhythm of the lines.
Melody of Life is a contemplative work about the power of change, the beauty of connectedness, and the silent music present beneath all life.
Anneke Winterman primarily creates independent work, using nature, stillness, and the rhythm of life as an infinite source of inspiration. She is 45 years old and a mother of three children. She started her own company a few years ago, called Centrum voor Kunst, Natuur & Educatie (Center for Art, Nature & Education). In 2005, she completed her studies in Autonomous Visual Arts at the Utrecht University of the Arts. Several of her artworks have been included in various publications.
