This is a hand-knotted Oriental rug, made from durable, natural materials. The knotting technique and diversity of patterns make this rug unique and emphasize its authentic and artisanal character.

Mehraban rugs originate from the Hamadan region, where these rugs were bought and sold decades ago. Hamadan served as a central trading hub for a large surrounding region. Many rugs from this region resemble one another, with occasional differences in patterns and/or colors. Only the best carpets from this large region have their own name (and recognizability), like this Mehraban.
