Vintage opal pendant lamp by Carlo Nason for Mazzega, Murano glass, Italy, 1960s. Four large 30x45 cm sheets of glass are cleverly and elegantly assembled to form an imposing lamp. Height 45 cm Diameter 52 cm Designer Carlo Nason is renowned for his mastery of Murano glass. He is the creator of some of the finest floor and suspension lamps, notably published by Mazzega. His pieces are renowned for their original, timeless curves. Carlo Nason was born in Italy in 1935, into a family with a passion for Murano glass. So it was natural for him to take an interest in this magnificent material. It was "modern design" in particular that caught his attention. He mixed different techniques to create original, innovative pieces. Throughout his career, he has worked with major companies. In the 1970s and 1980s, he chose Mazzega to develop his collection. Carlo Mason is considered a benchmark of Italian design. His pieces are particularly sought-after because they are not only original but also of high quality. Can be shipped disassembled.
