A rare and historically significant early B&B Italia production of the iconic “Camaleonda” modular sofa by Mario Bellini. This particular configuration, dated 1973, belongs to the first generation ever released under the new B&B Italia brand—immediately after the transformation from C&B. Preserved in completely original condition, this set is upholstered in its rare and vibrant red corduroy fabric, emblematic of 1970s Italian modernism.
Modular Freedom, Iconic Form
The Camaleonda’s revolutionary modular system is at the heart of its enduring design legacy. The sofa includes:
3 large seating modules with backrest
1 ottoman
All elements are fully original and intact, retaining Bellini’s signature capitonné tufting system, constructed with hooks, rings, and internal tie-rods—an engineering marvel introduced in 1970 that still defines the look and modularity today. The set’s 90 x 90 cm modules function like building blocks, allowing infinite configurations for evolving interior needs.
Original Corduroy Upholstery, Rich in Texture
Upholstered in its first-edition ribbed red corduroy, this sofa presents a deeply tactile surface with subtle gloss and authentic wear.
