Central to my paintings is: the beauty of transience, the imperfection.
My inspiration is life itself. When I start painting, the basis can be based on an abstract image or on concrete observations. By going back with my fantasy in the past of something or someone and then moving away from the existing form of the subject, it is no longer reminded of its original function. While painting, my story that arises in my mind takes over. Step by step, layer by layer I move into the unknown. Wondering where I end up. My work is always unfinished, like life itself.
I use different materials for this. Due to the varied use of materials, I keep encountering new challenges, new inspiration, a new experiment.
