Product description
This exquisite marble sculpture, inspired by the famous Venus de Milo, is crafted from two types of marble. The piece showcases a harmonious blend of white and purple hues with delicate white veins, reflecting its French/Italian origins around 1900. Perfect for adding a touch of classical elegance to any space.
Marble statue made from two types of superior marble, female figure. 88 cm high on a 100 cm pedestal.
Together, therefore, 188 cm high. Italian artist (name unknown).
The statue stood in Pictura, the predecessor of De Trafford in Maastricht, around 1985.
I purchased it from art connoisseur and appraiser J. Vellen (now deceased). He appraised it at 19,000 guilders (appraisal report available). I am offering this statue for sale for 12,000 euros.
Viewing is permitted (Sittard area). The statue dates from around 1900.
