Product description
A stunningly beautiful lamp by Lyfa, designed by Louis Weisdorf. The model is Facet. The lamp is in good condition. Height approx. 27 cm Width approx. 18 cm Note: We do not ship to the US or Canada. Louis Weisdorf was a Danish designer best known for his innovative and versatile approach to lighting design. He was born on April 2, 1932, in Copenhagen, Denmark, and died on March 22, 2012. Weisdorf's designs combined functionality with aesthetics and were often based on geometric shapes and structural principles. One of his most iconic designs is the "Turbo" pendant lamp, which he designed in 1965 for the Danish lighting manufacturer Lyfa. The Turbo lamp is constructed from several layers of reflective circles that can be unfolded and collapsed, giving the lamp an adjustable shape and light distribution. This design exemplified Weisdorf's ability to combine technical innovation with visual appeal. Louis Weisdorf worked closely with various design companies throughout his career. He began his career as an assistant to architect and designer Poul Henningsen, who was known for his work in lighting. Later, in the 1960s and 1970s, Weisdorf worked for Lyfa, where he created several successful designs, including the Turbo lamp and other lighting products. Founded in 1903, Lyfa was a Danish lighting manufacturer known for its high-quality and innovative designs. The company collaborated with several renowned designers and played a significant role in the development of Scandinavian design. Although Lyfa ceased operations in the 1980s, many of their designs, including those by Louis Weisdorf, remain prized pieces of design today. Louis Weisdorf's work has contributed to the legacy of Scandinavian design and is still appreciated by enthusiasts of timeless and functional designs. Buying vintage is more than just a purchase; it's buying a relatively unique product. These are products that were manufactured with quality in the past and have therefore stood the test of time; they have a story. These vintage design items are a delight for your interior today. Purchasing a vintage product also contributes to sustainability; it gets a new life, eliminating the need to manufacture another item. We always ship lamps without a light source. The lamps offered are always in working order, but they must be inspected by a certified company for reliability and safety. If anything is unclear or you have any additional questions, please ask, and we will answer them as best we can.
