A mid-century two-tier teak side table on castors, designed by Louis van Teeffelen for Wébé, the Netherlands, 1960s.
The piece is defined by its sculptural base: slanted, tapered solid teak legs splay outward and carry a smaller floating lower shelf between them — a signature of Van Teeffelen's work for Wébé. The rectangular top shows warm teak grain, with a second tier below for books or objects. At 68 cm high it sits taller than a typical occasional table: originally conceived as a television table, it works equally well today as a tall lamp table, side table or mobile occasional table, running smoothly on its original castors.
This example is documented in the Wébé catalogue under Van Teeffelen's name — a well-attributed piece of Dutch mid-century design.
Condition: very good vintage condition. The piece has a previously applied varnished finish, giving it a glossier surface than untreated oiled teak (worth noting for collectors who prefer a matte original finish). Light wear consistent with age. Structurally sound and stable.
