Handcrafted in the Neo-Renaissance style from solid carved wood, with bas-reliefs and marquetry panels depicting landscapes of Todi, Italy. Each piece is in excellent condition. Contact us to discuss. :) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE STORY: This superb five-piece master bedroom was created by master cabinetmaker Giacomo Rondolini in Todi, commissioned by Mr. François Villanova, French Consul in Rome, in the 1960s. Few people have probably heard of Todi, but those in the know in Italy are well acquainted with this beautifully preserved medieval village. Located in Umbria, in central Italy, near Tuscany, Todi is one of the many towns in this region that are worth a visit, particularly for its rich tradition of classical furniture and high-quality cabinetmaking. Indeed, the art of carpentry here represents a centuries-old tradition, preserving a wealth of knowledge and experience, and it remains a key center for this craft, where the specific qualities of Todi's artisans were forged.
