This long necklace is made of polished peridot stone, ranging from smaller fragments at the top (approximately 0.5 centimeters) to larger ones at the bottom (approximately 1 centimeter). Peridot is a rare, gemstone-quality variant of the common mineral olivine, which forms deep within the Earth's mantle and is brought to the Earth's surface by volcanoes. It always has a green color. The shade of green can vary from yellow-green to bright green to a more brownish-green, depending on the amount of iron in the stone. I would describe this necklace as having a bright green shade. This is a pre-owned piece of jewelry, but it is still in beautiful condition.
