DESCRIPTION:
Optima was the result of a collaboration between Ingmar Relling and son Knut Relling and his last product before he retired. Optima naturally follows Ingmar Relling's understanding of design and construction principles. As a humanist, the primary perspective of his work was that the objects he designed should be useful to people in their daily lives. With Optima , Ingmar Relling provides proof of an excellent harmony in which form actually follows function and precisely reflects the essence of the functionalist. Simplicity and a stringent but logical expression give the Relling Armchairs a unique character.

Ingmar Relling is Norway's most internationally known and recognized furniture designer and one of the largest contributors to the concept of “Scandinavian Design”. Ingmar Relling has received several awards for his work as a furniture designer. In 1978 he received the greatest award a Norwegian designer can receive; The Jacob Prize. In 1999 he was awarded the King's Medal of Merit in Gold .

High-gloss chrome-plated tubular steel / selected fine nappa leather, naturally grained, aniline-dyed, slightly pigmented, easy to care for and yet soft!
