This object is an antique magic lantern, model Hora, manufactured around 1919 by the German brand Liesegang. As an early precursor to the slide projector, this piece represents an important moment in the history of visual media and optical instruments. Its design is a testament to the industrial aesthetic of its era. The lantern is constructed from metal with a grey finish and is mounted on a solid wooden base. The optical system consists of a glass lens that can be manually focused. Internally, the device is equipped with a ceramic fitting, indicating a later electrification.
