Product description
This impressive ceramic vase was manufactured by the renowned Belgian majolica and faience factory Hubert Bequet in Quaregnon. It is model 659, one of the larger designs from the 1950s and 1960s, characterized by a lush floral decoration in a distinct Art Deco style.
The object is finished in a deep black glaze, which forms a strong contrast with the hand-painted floral and leaf motifs in vibrant shades of blue, orange, yellow, and green. This multicolored palette is subtly accentuated by handmade gold contours and a fully gilded rim. The vase has a height of 36 centimeters and a diameter of 24 centimeters. On the underside is the original gold stamp with the text 'Made in Belgium - H. Bequet Quaregnon', accompanied by the embossed model number.
The ceramic is in excellent condition, with the polychrome colors and gold accents having fully retained their original luster and intensity. The structural integrity has remained intact, without traces of previous restorations, testifying to careful preservation over the years.
This collector's item forms a striking accent in both classic and eclectic interiors. Thanks to the rich color scheme and generous size, the vase serves as a powerful centerpiece on a sideboard, a wall unit, or a freestanding pedestal.
