A striking oversized bottle opener from the 1960s, combining solid brass with richly grained rosewood in a refined and highly characteristic Mid-Century Modern design. The opener is defined by its unusually elongated proportions and clear geometric construction. A flat brass body forms the structural core, while the warm reddish-brown rosewood handle is carefully inset and secured with small brass pins. The circular opening mechanism at one end is balanced by a smaller hanging hole at the other, creating a simple but highly resolved composition. The contrast between the dark tropical hardwood and the softly aged brass gives the piece a particularly elegant presence. Rather than being treated as a purely utilitarian tool, the opener reflects the broader 1960s design culture in which even everyday household and bar objects were conceived with strong attention to material, proportion and craftsmanship.
