A very attractive piece of European royal memorabilia.
This box was issued by the Belgian brand "Gulden Sporen" (Golden Spurs), a famous margarine and vegetable fat brand of the time, and was produced in Belgium at the end of 1959.
It was made to celebrate the princely wedding of Prince Albert of Belgium (who would later become King Albert II) and Donna Paola Ruffo di Calabria (the future Queen Paola).
Dimensions: 30.5 cm long x 20.5 cm wide x 14 cm high.
This box has a lock on the front; the key is missing.
Lid: Official portrait of the newlyweds taken on July 2, 1959, just after the wedding ceremony, at Laeken Castle.
Large side: The young princely couple waving to the crowds from a convertible. The official text specifies that this is their joyous visit to the city of Liège (Luik) on July 11, 1959.
Small side: Two painted medallions depicting Albert and Paola, flanking the Belgian coat of arms, with the national motto: "Unity makes strength."

"The Gulden Sporen brand is proud to offer this gift set to Belgian consumers in honor of Their Royal Highnesses Prince Albert of Belgium and Princess Paola.
On the lid, you will find the wedding photograph, taken after the ceremony at Laeken Castle on July 2, 1959. The photos on the balcony and in the car were taken on July 11 during the Princely Couple's visit to Liège. Another photo was taken during the garden party at Laeken Castle.
