Product description
A very beautiful large decorative dish in glazed ceramic by J.G. Picard, the French ceramicist couple Max and Dominique Picard. It features an elegant hand-painted decoration of a stylized rooster surrounded by flowers and foliage, emblematic of their work from the 1960s and 70s. The nuanced glaze, in shades of beige, brown, gray, and blue, offers magnificent drip and texture effects that give the piece its unique character. The decoration, executed in a style that is both naive and modernist, fits perfectly within the aesthetic of French ceramics of this period. A generously sized decorative piece that can be displayed on the wall or used as a centerpiece. Signed on the reverse. Good overall condition. Note a small chip on the reverse rim of the dish, which does not affect its appearance or durability. Some minor signs of age consistent with its age. {height: 6 cm - diameter: 34.5 cm -}.
