A beautiful bronze statue of a warrior on horseback armed with a spear, believed to depict a member of the Dogon tribe. The Dogon people are largely indigenous, living in the West African country of Mali. The snake-like details on the neck appear in metalwork from Mali to Cameroon, and the styling of the seated human figures resembles that of Malian metal figures. The relatively unfinished feet are reminiscent of Dogon metal figures. The horse has an active rearing posture, making it an impressive image. The statue is also of a nice large size. In short, a unique piece for the collector and lover of African art. DIMENSIONS:
