Large length of antique brocaded jacquard fabric with a Persian/Oriental hunting scene.
Magnificent woven fabric depicting hunting scenes with horsemen, archers, lions, gazelles, birds, and stylized vegetation, inspired by Persian and Middle Eastern textiles.
The background has a beautiful golden sheen achieved through the integration of gold metallic threads into the weave, creating stunning reflections depending on the light. The design is woven (not printed), with the reverse side revealing the richness of the jacquard work.
Dimensions: approximately 447 cm x 96 cm.
Colors: ivory gold/cream background with brick red, celadon green, blue, black, and gold accents.
Exact composition unknown. The appearance, the fineness of the weave, and the presence of metallic threads suggest a high-quality fabric. Silk. The metallic threads have not been examined but are most likely gilded silver or gold thread.
