Product description
A superb large, high-quality blown crystal vase from Bohemia, in the Art Deco style, dating from around 1920-1930. It is reminiscent of the designs of Josef Hoffmann (Vienna Secession) for the Wiener Werkstätte, as well as certain pieces from the Moser crystalworks. It also evokes some works by Daum. No formal attribution has been possible, as this model does not appear in any known Moser or Daum catalogs. Nevertheless, this is a remarkable and rare piece, crafted from thick crystal tinted in a deep emerald green, with highly precise hand-cut details alternating between broad polished facets and concentric rings. It rests on an imposing, solid octagonal base that accentuates its silhouette. The substantial weight, the quality of the crystal, the fineness of the cut, and the intensity of the color are consistent with the high-end productions of the major Bohemian crystalworks of the first half of the 20th century. 32cm high, 21cm in diameter at its widest point, and 15.5cm in diameter at the base. In very good overall condition with brilliant, untarnished crystal, free of cracks or repairs, only two small chips around the base and a few discreet signs of wear consistent with its age: small scratches and minor dents along the edges. Approximately 3kg.
