An exceptional antique brass fire grate in the Louis XV/Rocaille style, likely dating from the second half of the 19th century. This very fine, large-sized model is particularly decorative, featuring a rich relief design of flowers, foliage, scrolls, and Rocaille motifs. The imposing, openwork, and intricately worked side ornaments frame a central crossbar decorated in the same style. The entire piece has a beautiful antique patina that particularly highlights the reliefs. The grate has a sliding mechanism allowing its width to be adjusted from 103 to 147 cm, making it suitable for a wide range of fireplaces.
