Absolutely wonderful large Italian carved walnut Greek Titan Atlas figure.
The celestial sphere world clock is supported on his shoulders - as he carries time in the globe.
The quality to the carving is superb, look at how details like the muscle tone and scale have been skillfully rendered.
Believed to be from Northern Italy.
Such a quirky unique piece.
Good size at over six feet tall - 195 CM - and he stands on a square pedestal base.
Would be great for an entrance hall or the lobby to a hotel or restaurant as a quirky statement piece.
