The beautiful black leather "Modus" lounge chair was designed by Kristian Vedel and produced by Søren Willadsen Møbelfabrik. This beauty was made in Denmark in the 1960s. It's a compact armchair with exceptional comfort! The armchair has undergone a thorough leather treatment and is now practically like new! The frame is made of solid, highly exclusive rosewood and is also in excellent condition.
Kristian Vedel (1923-2003) completed his cabinetmaking apprenticeship in 1942 and studied for several semesters with Haare Klint at the Department of Furniture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen (1947-1949). He later taught in the Furniture Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.
After a long stay abroad, he and his wife opened a design studio in Thyholm, Denmark, in 1972.
