The Knoll Tulip table was designed by Eero Saarinen and can be seen in the Museum of Modern Art in NY. The table was designed because Saarinen was frustrated with the chaotic undersides of tables and chairs. So in 1953 he started designing his perfect table and after 10 different designs that he made in a 1:4 scale which he put into doll houses to see their effect on and in a room. Knoll started producing these tables with this classic trumpet foot, and up until this day they are still the exclusive producer of the Saarinen tulip table.
Bought in 1980 so there are some inevitable signs of wear on the border of the table. We took good care of it otherwise!
