This set of four Kilta lounge armchairs, designed by Olli Mannermaa for Martela, represents an iconic piece of Scandinavian design from the 1950s. The chairs are characterized by their flowing, organic lines and the distinctive opening in the backrest, creating an airy and elegant silhouette.
The armchairs are upholstered in a woven textile in a mottled pink and blue color scheme, adding subtle texture and depth to the design. The base consists of four slender, chrome-plated metal legs that give the whole a light and modern look. The construction and choice of materials reflect the high quality standards of Finnish furniture production from that period.
The set is in good condition, commensurate with its age and use. The original upholstery and chrome-plated frame have retained their character, contributing to the chairs' authentic vintage appearance. There is some damage from a cat; there are no tears in the fabric, but there are some loose snags and threads.
