A unique 'Andy Mouse' screen print. A funny and colorful homage to Andy Warhol as Mickey Mouse. This screen print, originally a series of four separate works, was brought together by the Georges Mulder Foundation, Inc. in 1986 into one striking screen print.
Both Haring and Warhol had a fascination with Disney, and particularly with Mickey Mouse.
Richard Lloyd, International Head of Prints & Multiples: 'Andy Mouse is a magnificent highlight in Haring's entire oeuvre. The powerful graphic quality, the complex composition, and the brilliant colors are absolute milestones for the artist. The large scale of Andy Mouse and the brilliant postmodern references to pop icons such as Mickey Mouse — via Andy Warhol — make this a groundbreaking work by Haring that remains relevant to contemporary art to this day.'
Screen print on 'wove paper' (parchment paper) 'H.T.S.' (watermark)
Beautifully framed, in good condition.
