The Jumo Bolide desk lamp, designed in 1945, is an iconic piece of French industrial design. Its aerodynamic silhouette, characteristic of the era, makes it a sought-after collector's item for mid-century design enthusiasts.
Made of black Bakelite with a chrome and copper-plated metal articulated arm, this lamp demonstrates robust and ingenious construction. The inscription "JUMO BREVETE MADE IN FRANCE" is molded into the base, confirming its authenticity and origin. The folding mechanism allows the bulb and arm to be concealed within the base, transforming the lamp into a compact and sculptural object when not in use.
The lamp is authentic and therefore includes the original cable, which needs repair, as you can see. There is also a slight scratch on the top, but nothing that detracts from its overall beauty.
