This elegant display cabinet by Ehalt Meubles is a refined example of Louis XIV-style furniture design from the 1970s.
The cabinet is crafted from high-quality wood with a warm, brown finish and features detailed inlay (maquerie) of rosewood and 'violin wood' (kingwood). The cabinet is finished with bronze fittings. The glass doors and side panels offer a clear view of the glass shelves, ideal for displaying silverware or collectibles. The mirrored back panel enhances the light and creates a sense of depth. The cabinet features push-button lighting at the top (new bulb to be provided).
The furniture is in excellent condition, with the original finish and characteristic patina preserved. The construction is solid and the decorative elements are intact, testifying to careful preservation over the years. This display cabinet was purchased at Galerie Sint-Jan in the late 1970s (original brochure available for inspection) and is part of a larger dining room set consisting of a buffet cabinet with mirror, a table, and a set of chairs.
