This elegant dining table by Ehalt Meubles, designed by JP Ehalt in the 1970s, is a refined example of the Louis XIV style. The piece combines classic grandeur with the craftsmanship characteristic of French furniture making from that period.
The table is crafted from high-quality wood with detailed inlay (marquetry) of rosewood and 'violin wood' (kingwood) on the oval tabletop, and is finished with bronze fittings. The table can be easily and separately extended on both sides, with an extension of 44 cm per side.
The furniture was purchased at Galerie Sint-Jan in Genk in the late 1970s (original brochure available) and is in sublime condition, with the structural integrity and aesthetic details excellently preserved.
The chairs in the photo are for sale separately; the table is part of a larger set consisting of a buffet cabinet with mirror, a set of chairs (6), and a silver cabinet.
