This impressive sideboard with mirror was crafted by the renowned French furniture maker JP Ehalt in the 1970s. The piece is designed in the opulent Louis XIV style, resulting in a richly decorated silhouette that immediately catches the eye.
The sideboard is expertly constructed from high-quality wood with refined inlay (marquetry) of rosewood and 'violin wood' (kingwood), featuring geometric and floral motifs. The warm brown tones of the wood are accentuated by the bronze fittings and moldings.
The piece features an elegant pink marble top and an imposing mirror with a gold-colored, ornamented frame. The interior offers generous storage space and integrated lighting in the bar compartment.
The entire piece is in exceptionally neat condition, with the original finish and characteristic patina beautifully preserved. The construction is solid, with perfectly functioning doors, drawers, and locks. The furniture was purchased at Galerie Sint-Jan in Genk in the late 1970s and comes with the original brochure.
This masterpiece by Ehalt Meubles comes into its own perfectly in a classic or eclectic interior. The sideboard serves as a striking centerpiece in a spacious dining room or elegant hallway, where it offers both practical storage space and unmistakable grandeur.
