Product description
The Toledo high round bar table, designed by Jorge Pensi and made in Spain by Amat-3 for Knoll, is a timeless design object.
A round stainless steel top with an etched pattern (circles) sits on a hollow aluminum tubing frame with cast aluminum legs at the ends.
This earlier version with circles is less common and much rarer.
Regarded as one of Spain's most prominent designers, Jorge Pensi studied architecture in his native Buenos Aires before moving to Barcelona in 1977 to establish his design practice, Grupo Berenguer, with Albert Lievore. While the studio focused on new lighting and furniture designs, Pensi eventually became known for his fluid, elegant designs.
During this period, in 1988, he designed the Toledo chair and table for the Spanish furniture manufacturer Amat-3. Both designs were later acquired by Knoll. The Toledo chair, which has won multiple awards, including first place at the SIDI Selection, embodies Pensi's design aesthetic with its timeless quality and ability to easily fit into a wide variety of environments.
Condition:
Scratches on the stainless steel top, aluminum tube, and base; these are unfortunately unavoidable with these materials.
A few small dents on the top edge and two on the side of the edge.
