After his stay in a Tilburg children's home, Joop Verhagen (1942 - 2022) was initially trained as a house painter. He then attended the publicity department at the Sint Joost Academy in Breda and the Academy for Art and Industry in Enschede. He was a photographer in the army. There he also took up boxing and became Dutch military middleweight champion. Verhagen subsequently worked as a circus artist, dock worker, bouncer and briefly ran an advertising agency. This striking Tilburg citizen has profiled himself as a visual artist since the 1960s and has received a lot of attention since the 1990s because he always exhibits his abstract paintings in a different place in the city.
This work is in beautiful condition and is hand signed by the artist. This beautiful light-colored work of art is a great starting point to create your own wall mosaic.
