The "Elda" armchair was designed in Italy in 1963 by Joe Colombo (1930-1971) and was considered very futuristic for its time. The seat, backrest, and arms are upholstered in quilted black leather.
Joe Colombo, one of the most innovative Italian furniture designers of his generation, named the chair after his wife, Elda, and it can be found in the collections of institutions including The Museum of Modern Art in New York and The Louvre in Paris.
It is such an iconic chair that it has been used in several films, including The Hunger Games, Space 1999, and the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me.
