JLB: Surrealist sculptures in wrought iron, sometimes combined with glass.
Homage to Melopee. The inspiration was the poem "Melopee" by Paul Van Ostaijen.
Under the moon glides the long river
Over the long river, the moon glides wearily
Under the moon on the long river, the canoe glides to sea
Organic shapes were cut from a hand-forged iron plate. These shapes were filled with 2 cm thick, mass-colored, artisanally cast glass (Albertini).
The glass was cut by hand.
The materials and techniques used by the artist are completely absorbed into the result.
All sculptures are highly tactile, yet so layered that the viewer immediately searches for the message and the relationship they have with it...
The sculpture has been coated, giving it a beautiful sheen and a blackish-brown color.
Unique signed work from 2022.
