Rare Jet Desk, designed by Ernest Igl Hofmann and produced by Wilhelm Werndl in Germany in the 1970s. The model is made of PU Baydur, a sturdy molded plastic that enables the rounded, continuous forms of the desk. This particular example is a compact version, still in the original beige/cream-white lacquer, combined with dark brown drawers and a new dark brown carpet in the footwell.
The Jet Desk clearly demonstrates how Igl moved away from the traditional, angular wooden desk. Instead, he opted for a closed plastic volume with rounded edges, recessed circular shapes, and integrated storage space. Due to its compact size, this piece is easier to place than the larger versions, without the design losing any of its presence.
In very good vintage condition with light signs of use consistent with its age.
