Surreal sculptures in wrought iron. Modules is part of the series Urban jungle by artist JLB. Inspiration for the series are the processes and forms that originate in nature combined with human architecture The unique figure was created between hammer, fire and anvil. Forging is a form of sculpting. The materials and technique used by the artist are completely absorbed in the result. All of the sculptures have a high caressability factor, but are so layered that the viewer almost immediately seeks out the message and the relationship the viewer has with it.... The sculpture received a coating that gives the object a beautiful sheen and black-brown color and accentuates the hammer marks. Unique signed work from 2018 JLB received musical training at the Conservatory of Ghent after which he built a career as a horn player, conductor, composer and teacher. At the same time, as a self-taught musician, his interest turned to craft forging, first to restore or manufacture all kinds of ironwork in the old way. Later he discovered the possibilities of making sculptures. After a meeting and short internship with Martin Granel, he discovered the combination of glass with iron. JLB exhibits regularly at the Garemyn Hall in Bruges. His work has also been shown at the Vlask gallery in Ghent. Dimensions : 55 cm x 17 cm x 13 cm
