Jangada Lounge Chair with ottoman in cognac leather by Jean Gillon, Brazil 1960s
A breathtaking design which was inspired by the markets and fishermen of Brazil, The Jangada chair is often seen and referred to as Jean Gillon’s most celebrated work.
The chair is made of a beautiful Brazilian hardwood frame, with a nylon ‘fishing net’ like knotted seat which hold the beautiful tan leather cushions. This incredible construction, following the chair’s name and inspiration, will embrace the one taking a seat, allowing a highly comfortable seating experience.
Both the leather and the frames are in excellent vintage condition, with nice light overall patina, making this an incredible find.
A conversation piece which will elevate any seating area.
