Johannes Leonardus Kagie ("Jan") was a Dutch artist born in 1885 and died in 1971. Born in The Hague, he lived and worked there. He was a teacher of H. van Leeuwen. Initially, he was a house and decorative painter, later a painter. He painted and drew landscapes, still lifes, figure studies, and so on. He also taught his son Jan Kagie and others (Chris Snijder, Ben de Kreek, Jan Vermeulen) to paint.
