Product description
A large and highly recognizable ceramic vase designed by Hella Jongerius for IKEA as part of the PS Jonsberg series. This terracotta version, decorated with white circular pastilles, is generally referred to on the market as the “Africa” model. The design has that unmistakable Jongerius balance of craft and industrial production: bold in scale, tactile in surface, and graphic without feeling cold.
The Jonsberg series was commissioned by IKEA and produced as part of Jongerius’s broader exploration of ceramic techniques, decoration and cultural references. JongeriusLab lists the vase at 34 x Ø 30 cm, and notes that the series is held in museum collections, including the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
