Like a piece of Finnish winter landscape: This heavy ice bucket from the “Seita” series was designed in 1976 by Tapio Wirkkala for Iittala. The highly structured glass surface is reminiscent of melting ice and rough tree bark. The clear, solid glass refracts light in ever new ways, while the straight metal handle forms a beautiful contrast to the organic shape. A functional bar object that also acts as a small glass sculpture. The glass body is 10 cm high; with the handle raised, the total height is 17 cm. Good vintage condition. The glass is well preserved; the metal handle shows slight age-related surface marks. The irregular contour and the pronounced relief structure are part of the original design.
