Unique Antique Horrix Display Cabinet (c. 1860-1880) – Royal Quality (With Original Label)
Description: Offered for sale: a museum-quality and extremely rare antique two-door display cabinet (deux-corps / bonheur) in rich Louis XV (Rococo Revival) style. This masterpiece of Dutch craftsmanship was manufactured by the world-famous Hague furniture factory Gebr. Horrix (Les Frères Horrix).
The cabinet features the original, extremely scarce paper factory label on the back: "Anna Paulowna Fabrique de Meubles – Les Frères Horrix – Près la Station de la Haye".
This label proves the royal provenance and status as a purveyor to the court in the 19th century. Furniture of this quality and with this documentation can be found in the collections of the Rijksmuseum and the Kunstmuseum Den Haag, among others. Features and Details:
Material: High-quality, warm-patinated mahogany with very refined, hand-carved details.
Crest: Beautiful, monumental asymmetrical crest with flowing Rococo lines.
Upper Cabinet: Two doors with elegantly curved glasswork. The interior contains two unique, wavy shelves finished with gold-colored braid and the original crimson lining.
Secret drawers: At the bottom of the display cabinet are two recessed, handmade inner drawers for silverware or valuables.
Lower Cabinet: Equipped with a wide, smooth-running drawer and two solid panel doors with beautiful mirrored wood veneer, resting on chased consoles and curved legs. Condition:
