Heinz Lilienthal coffee table from the 1970s, featuring an impressive 30 mm thick cast glass top on an architectural wooden base. The heavy square top is characterized by a lively structure with trapped air bubbles, giving the glass an almost fluid appearance and capturing the light in a unique way. The dark stained wooden base consists of a rhythmic composition of vertical elements that create a different silhouette from every angle. The combination of solid glass and the graphic base creates a powerful contrast between transparency and volume. A distinctive design that convinces both as a coffee table and as a standalone object, and is typical of Heinz Lilienthal's experimental design language from this period. In good vintage condition with light signs of wear consistent with age and use.
