For sale is an absolute design icon of the 20th century: the glass teapot by Heinrich Löffelhardt, designed in 1955 for Schott (Mainz).
This design was awarded the Gold Medal at the 11th Triennale in Milan in 1957 and the Grand Prix in 1960. With its flattened shape and clear, geometric lines, the teapot is firmly rooted in the Bauhaus and German Functionalist traditions. A wonderful collector's item and, at the same time, a practical everyday object for lovers of Mid-Century Modern design.
The "Schott Verran" mark on the base indicates that this piece is a later, original vintage production.
