Heinrich Althoff teak sideboard – Germany, ca. 1960s
This elegant sideboard by Heinrich Althoff is a beautiful example of German mid-century design, in which craftsmanship and functionality come together with the refined look of Scandinavian modernism.
Although the furniture was produced in Germany, the influence of Danish design is clearly visible. The clean lines, slender tapered legs, and warm teak appearance are strongly reminiscent of designs originating from Denmark during the same period. At the same time, Althoff distinguishes itself with solid German construction and a particularly high-quality finish.
The sideboard offers a fine balance between appearance and practical usability. Behind the three lockable doors are two spacious storage compartments, each equipped with an adjustable shelf. Additionally, the piece features four neatly organized drawers, ideal for storing cutlery, table linens, or other daily necessities. It features our almost invisible protective coating, which will offer this piece of furniture protection against grease, dirt, and moisture.
