# Harry Corvers (1913–1982) – Original Dancer / Ballerina | 1970 | Framed Mixed Media | 50 x 40 cm
Original figurative artwork by Dutch artist Harry Corvers (1913–1982), also known under his monastic name Gamaliël. Corvers was active as a painter, illustrator, calligrapher and designer, and became known in the Brabant region for his expressive artistic style and decorative works.
He also contributed to creative projects connected to the Efteling and produced a wide variety of figurative works, illustrations and graphic art throughout his career.
This original 1970 composition depicts an elegant ballerina/dancer in a loose expressive style with energetic brushwork and warm tones. The combination of watercolor/gouache technique and dynamic movement gives the work a strong theatrical atmosphere.
