Charming handmade ceramic storage jar by celebrated Dutch ceramist Hannie Mein (1933–2003). This stoneware jar, inscribed “Jam”, belongs to a series of her playful hand-painted kitchen pots, which also included labels such as “Tym” and “Hagelslag”.
The jar features a warm natural glaze, expressive brown brushwork, and an original wooden lid. The underside bears Hannie Mein's incised HM monogram.
Mein attended courses at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and became known for her distinctive, expressive ceramic work from Friesland.
