Product description
A splendid pair of period Sicilian puppets, depicting the legendary protagonists of the Carolingian cycle: the valiant paladin Orlando and the beautiful Angelica.
These artifacts are not mere souvenirs, but authentic folk art objects created by the historic company Lanzafame Sebastiano of Aci Sant’Antonio (Catania),
a world-class center of excellence for the decoration and construction of puppets. The pieces date back to 1985, a golden age for fine Sicilian collecting.
Construction Details and Materials
The workmanship strictly follows the canons of Catanian tradition, as confirmed by the included original guarantee certificate:
Face and Head: Sculpted in wood and finely hand-painted with vivid expressions.
Armor: Made of burnished brass, embossed and chiseled with ornamental motifs.
Clothing: Velvet and cotton robes, entirely hand-sewn with gold trimmings.
Accessories: Complete with original rigging rods, shields, and swords.
