Gunni Omann 'Model 75' teak desk, for Omann Junior Møbelfabriek, Denmark, 1960s with floating rectangular teak top, above two sets of three conforming drawers, opposing side with bookshelf and drop-down flap, on four strutted legs, manufacturer's paper label, Dimensions: 73cm high, 153cm wide, 80,5cm deep. The right-hand drawer has a working lock with key, The left hand drawer key mechanism is missing.
Omann Jun Møbelfabrik was founded in 1933 by Andreas Omann. He began with the production of beds and dining tables and then from the 1950s, started producing desks and sideboards in teak, oak and rosewood. Omann's two son's Gunni and Bjarne took over the company in 1979 and Ulrich Omann who is third generation took over from them in 2005.
The desk is crafted from teak veneer with solid wood details like drawer pulls and legs. Teak is valued for its durability and attractive grain patterns. The freestanding design of the desk allows for versatile placement in a room.
